Milly, Molly and the Tree Hut

Milly, Molly and the Tree Hut ($.99 universal app for PK-2nd graders) tells the story of a boy who watches too much TV and is forced by his mother to go outside and play. In addition to the story there is a matching game and a word search. The illustrations are nice and each page of the story can also be colored. A special feature of this story is that your child can record their own voice reading it which might entice them to practice reading out loud. If your child doesn’t know a word they can hold their finger on the word and they will be able to hear it spelled out. We love that this story comes in 5 languages: English, Spanish, French, Japanese and Maori.  If your child loves Milly and Molly, there are more iBooks about them. Please note that while this app is ok for iPad, it is really a blown up version of the iPhone/iPod Touch app which makes the graphics on the iPad look a bit fuzzy. We hope they fix that soon!
