Learn Spanish – MindSnacks

MindSnacks Spanish (like the other MindSnacks language learning apps – French, Italian, German, Chinese, Portuguese, English) is strangely addictive.  The learning activities are good and the combination of cleverness and repetition is super helpful for learning beginning Spanish.  It is made up of a bunch of fun games that are a bit funny (if your kids are sensitive to grammatical errors causing an elephant’s parachute to break and so it falls to the ground – splat – then this isn’t for them) and it keeps track of progress very clearly.  You will have to identify correct translations, spell words using anagrams, identify incorrectly spelled words, incorrect gender articles, misplaced accents, etc.  While very good on its own, this app would also be a good complement to beginning Spanish classes.

Skills: Spanish language
Cost: Free for several (very early) levels. Try it out. You will want to upgrade for $4.99.
Platform: iPhone, iPod Touch,  iPad
