About Mind Leap Badges

What does it take to get reviewed on Mind Leap?

We carefully select apps to review based on their educational value. As you’ve probably already figured out, we only rate apps that are educational. An app can be plenty fun, engaging and entertaining, but if it doesn’t have clear educational value, it won’t end up on Mind Leap. So, you can trust that anything you find on our site has been vetted.

Our rating system has three elements which, combined, serve to illustrate the learning potential of a given app:

  • Educational value – Does learning (strategizing, problem solving, or practice…) happen when the app is used?
  • Engagement factor – Are kids engaged in the app, do they like it and want to play it?
  • Shelf life – Is there benefit from using this app over and over again? Does it have enough content and engaging features?

What does it mean for an app to have a Mind Leap Badge?

We think it’s important to recognize developers for building apps that get our kids learning and keep them coming back for more. Kudos, hats off, way to go! You’re enabling young minds to be excited about the latest technology and to engage their brains at the same time. Mind Leap Badges help developers easily demonstrate this to parents and teachers.
